PELVIC ADJUSTMENTS
HELPING VIOLENT MARES
Many horses need an occasional pelvic adjustment.  Mares, more often than males. I will explain in details why when I publish the section about the pelvic connection in my E-book. Often, when a horse resists, becomes overactive or violent a simple pelvic adjustment can help solve his most serious problem.

When pain or discomfort is experienced in the hind end horses block the feeling by tightening muscles around the back, the pelvis, and the haunches. Mares when their ovaries are too sensitive tend to develop this type of contraction as a habit .

This contraction is rarely symmetrical or uniform. It causes tensions and contorsions around the pelvis easily observed when watching carefully horses walking freely along a straight line on a  level surface. The horse looks stiff, at least on one side.

A simple pelvic adjustment properly executed usually helps realign the pelvis and eliminates most of the discomfort. One must proceed with a pelvic adjustment only when blocks have been eliminated from the front end.
